It is usually the case that, if you are able to, you should make your claim directly yourself via the FSCS. However, sometimes claims are rejected.
FSCS Claims Rejections -
Closed Claims Reopened - Compensation Errors Recalculated - Delays Successfully Challenged - Rejected Claims Appealed And Won
We have extensive experience of challenging on behalf of clients who have been rejected by the FSCS decisions where we can identify that errors have ocurred. For example, we have successfully requested compensation amount recalculations; we have won a number of previously rejected and closed cases, and we always challenge the delays in the claims process that can take place.
Our experience of the FSCS claims process is that it can take a lot longer than clients usually anticipate. The FSCS themselves suggest that you should allow up to 6 months for them to process your claim. We undertake a great deal of evidence preparation and and submission work to foreshorten this timesecale. Indeed we have won some recent claims within 4-6 weeks of submission.
As we said at the start, best advice is to make your own claim yourself, but if you have been rejected by FSCS then klet us look at it for you. We will make a charge of 20% inclusive of VAT if we win compensation for you - if we do not win compensation we will not make a charge.
Mr H went direct to the FSCS and his claim was rejected by the FSCS in March 2017. His IFA introduced him to us in Autumn 2018. In January 2019 he was awarded the maximum £50,000 Compensation. In his own words
"Dear Gary many thanks for the hard work you and your company put in getting a fantastic claim from FSCS I am overwhelmed at the outcome you've made my year. Many thanks again" Jan '19
Mr N went direct to FSCS and was awarded £38,565. He asked us to check his compensation award and we applied for a further sum, up to the £50,000 maximum following our investigation. In January 2019 he was awarded a further £11,435 Compensation. In his own words:
"Good morning Ken. Having received my original award , I never thought that it would be possible to achieve a further payment but that's where your expertise comes to play and it makes you wonder how many others accept an award without challenge.
I really appreciate the service that I have received from yourselves and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your company.
Kind regards" Jan '19
