Foreman Financial Services refused to make a payment required by a decision issued by the Fiancial Ombudsman Service (FOS) . These decisions are legally binding.

As a result, the Financial Conduct Authority cancelled Foreman's permissions to carry on giving financial advice. The firm then closed, making an announcement via its website.

In the FOS case, Foreman FS had advised a client to transfer a pension into a Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP), which was the invested into Harlequin Property.

Other clients were also apparently advised to invest via Beaufort Securities. Both Harlequin and Beaufort subsequently failed - leaving many investors facing large losses.
